Boby Krishnan joined the Obaid Humaid Al Tayer Engineering department as a
Sales Engineer in January 2002. As a qualified mechanical engineer with an MBA
in Marketing, Boby joined the Al Tayer Group looking to further develop his
career. As a Sales Manager, the main products under his portfolio include
electricity meters, connectors, office electrical cable management solutions
and Clestra demountable partitions.
" As part of my routine, on Thursdays I go through the sales reports
and plan for the week ahead. Unlike normal sales for us based on the
specification from the client, we send that enquiry to the principals and then
finally give the prices. Due to the currency fluctuation and changes in freight
costs, prices are not fixed. Our products also have a gestation period of two
to three years, so the fruits of our labour over the last few years are
beginning to bear now. We are currently also looking into the feasibility of
certain products and should be introducing new products shortly.
