Job Brief:
  • To provide support to the Design Manager in achieving the completion of design projects to time and budget. In addition, to assist the Design Manager in the development and training of junior staff and the expansion of the knowledge base of other design staff.
  • To provide support in agreeing the project brief, establish timelines, delegate tasks and monitor progress of the same.
  • Monitor the performance of the Auto Cad designers to ensure the design correctness and completeness as well as compliance with the scope of work requirements
  • Review and report to Design Manager on all Auto Cad designers’ activities, monthly reports including area of concern and recommended plans of action.
  • To assist the Design Manager in the proper utilization of design resources.
  • To train junior staff in design processes and technical matters.
  • To undertake Value Engineering and Constructability reviews during the various design stages and advice Design Manager on any matters arising.
  • Coordinate / Liaise with Consultant & Client on all client related changes, comments, and ensure incorporation in the design.
  • Provide resource estimates to the Design Manager for Proposals.
  • Compliance with, and implementation of, Company and BU requirements in respect of Quality, Safety and Environmental Management.
Person Specification:
  • Degree or Diploma in Architecture/Civil Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification relevant to construction project management.
  • Networking of architects, contractors, engineers and government authorities.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and well developed communication skills.
  • Understanding of the market and of design/ legal terms.
  • 4-6 years work experience in a construction industry with latter years in a responsible project management position.
