"From day one, when I saw the training facility during my induction
programme and realised how much of an effort was put into it, I knew I wanted to
be a trainer."
Rana Ismail joined the Al Tayer Group in October 2005 as a sales person for Jimmy Choo. She moved to a training role in 2007 and has since become a key member of the team. Her responsibilities include the induction and oriention of new employees into the company.
" I come from a conservative Egyptian family and after much
persuasion my parents allowed me to go for the Al Tayer Group interview. When I
did get the sales job my mother had to be convinced by the recruiters to allow
me to take up the job. So finally after some struggle I came to work in Dubai
from Cairo.
From day one, when I saw the training facility during my induction programme
and realised how much of an effort was put into it, I knew I wanted to be a
trainer.
After a year and a half, the vacancy for a trainer arose and I applied for
that position. We were interviewed and had to make a presentation. I had
researched a lot about presentations on the internet which helped me succeed in
making a good presentation. It was better than that was expected of me and so I
got the job. "
